This wheel is nothing more than a graphic in the form of a flower of different colors. The Wheel of Emotions was developed by the American psychologist Robert Plutchik in 1980 as a visual tool for understanding his psycho-evolutionary theory. Feelings of hostility, rage, aggression, and dissatisfaction may be prevalent and bring aggressive behavior like fighting. The Plutchik’s wheel shapes these changes so that we can understand them better and thus have better emotional health. Anger: Refers to a subjectively unpleasant mental experience evoked by the real or imagined harm done to an individual or what an individual values. In Plutchik's emotion wheel, the contrasting emotion is joy. For survival, the origin is rooted in infant "separation distress" and indicates the need for emotional support. The eight basic emotions are joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, anticipation, anger, and disgust. Plutchiks wheel of emotionillustrates the relationships between his primary emotionsand other related emotions. It may bring distressing emotions like weeping. Plutchik identified ten postulates on which his evolutionary theory of emotions is based. Sadness: Includes feelings of sorrow, discontentment, depression, apathy, hopelessness, loneliness, and lethargy.
